My Grandchildren live near enough to visit often and it is a great joy to be able to share the love of my farm and my animals with them.  From the time they were quite small, they'd come to the barn to help with chores (even cleaning stalls!).  Often the tools were bigger than they were -- have you ever seen a two-year old trying to carry a leaf of hay!  As happens with all children, they grow so fast -- the two-year old is now seven! But along the way they've shared the laughter and joy and tears that loving animals can bring and, I hope, will carry the compassion they are learning into all areas of their lives.
